We had a serious drainage problem around our new house and erosion on a hill in the back. After a few meetings with April Sunshine Designs (ASD), they came up with a great plan to solve all of the issues. We added some project changes along the way, all easily handled by ASD. Now we have a beautifully landscaped home front and back, adding value to our home. The retaining wall in back stopped the erosion and created a unique useable area, instead of a weedy, steep hill. We love it and all of our neighbors do too. ASD has wide-ranging skills and we would highly recommend them for any outdoor project, large or small.

We wanted a patio extension of about 1000 square feet to join with our existing outdoor fireplace but were not sure about the actual design. April developed a design that we really liked. Then she worked with us to iron out details of what pavers to use, slab rocks to blend into our hillside, colors and landscaping. The project was completed in six days and is beautiful. April’s team had the necessary equipment and expertise to do the job right. They included some special features/extras that were greatly appreciated. We highly recommend April Sunshine Designs.

We worked with April to design and install landscaping for our home. In addition, we had April’s team build a custom fence. The 3D design was helpful to visualize, and the finished product was beautiful! We HIGHLY recommend April Sunshine Designs. We live in a nice neighborhood, but our house was always missing that “look.” April came over and worked with us. She asked us what we wanted. Of course, we are not designers, nor do we have ideas. She designed our front yard, back yard, and a new fence to keep our dogs corralled. We loved the design. We loved the ease of working with April and her team. She reviewed her designs with us and was willing to make any adjustments, but we couldn’t think of one. It was beautiful! We couldn’t be happier with April Sunshine Designs. She designed and built a beautiful paver patio that exceeded our expectations! April is the best kept local secret. After two and a half years with no porch and no way to get to the back yard except going around, someone mentioned April’s name to me. I called, she came and took measurements, answered any questions, brought samples, and explained the process. She also explained how the project could be divided up to make it more financially manageable. She then sent us pictures of a final product that we fell in love with. When they started work on our backyard paradise, we were so excited, and rightly so, because 10 days later, we had the picture! I mean it, we had the exact backyard paradise that was on paper! Their work ethic, patience (with me), and attention to detail are not matched!!! We love them!

We hired April to hardscape and landscape both our front yard, as well as our back yard on a new construction project. We were blown away by her attention to detail and her ability to make it look exactly like her concept renderings. Our site was nothing but challenging, however April and Brad were able to expertly complete the project. We receive more compliments about our backyard than we do about our house now. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

April and the team at ASD do unbelievable work. We hired them upon moving into our new custom home, and she recommended 3 primary improvements to the builder’s original design. They laid in a beautiful paver walkway between driveway and house, so visitors never had to step into grass or landscape beds, she designed and built a beautiful front and back yard landscape plan, complete with lighting accenting both house and trees, then finally we added a paver patio (versus the 10×6 concrete pad that is standard with the builder) which is the envy of the neighborhood. Complete with fire-pit, sitting wall, and an area for both dining and sitting out watching the sunset. We could not have been more pleased with the team’s work.

April designed our front yard a few years ago and we really like it. When we decided to redo the backyard, we turned to her again, and we were very happy. She draws up superb designs, listens to what you want, and works with you on making the project yours. We had a huge 2 level hard scrape with a seating wall all the way around installed. We will move on to the landscaping in spring. Brad and the crew were very professional and kept me informed throughout the project. They listened when I had questions or concerns and made some changes as I requested. The project was completed slightly under the estimate given.

April has done all our design and landscape work for the past 6 or 7 years. A few years ago, she turned an over-grown wooded area in our backyard into a healing garden. The area is now a park-like area with a fire pit where we spend most of our outdoor time. We were so satisfied with her work that we contracted her a few years later to design the landscape for our front and side yard. April is a nature talent and has an awesome work ethic. We have used April Sunshine Designs for several major projects, as well as yearly maintenance. April designed and oversaw construction on a paver patio, custom cedar pergola, arbor over a grilling island, and a gas fire pit area. She also designed and installed all the landscaping at two of our residences. We have been very pleased with the results. She is innovative and came up with designs much better than what we had planned out ourselves. She listened to our goals and desires and turned them into a dream landscape.
